This Chicago Primary Care Clinic was an IIDA competition submission that consisted of two different renovations: a partial renovation and a full renovation. The idea of sediment and organic particles being broken down by weathering processes and then naturally transferred from place to place, was the initial inspiration for the Chicago Primary Care Clinic renovations. People sometimes go through similar changes, like sediment, being broken down by life’s unruly challenges. The Chicago Primary Care Clinic partial and full renovations were designed to comfort the human psyche by giving feelings of relatable connection throughout each space. Organic neutral colors such as shades of creamy golds and rich cool grey tones were pulled from an image of rocks and particles to set the palette.
The Chicago Primary Care Clinic partial and full renovations make any patient feel at home as well as giving healthcare employees a pleasant working environment.
