My research began with my interest in the art deco style. The 1920s was a grand decade not only for Americans, but for those across the world. It was a period of time between two world wars. During this period, the arts thrived and the architecture, clothing, and transportation all progressed in the art deco style.
This furniture collection was inspired by the 1929 DeSoto Roadster. Its sleek look and wonderful curves provided an ideal form to echo in furniture and provided the template for this collection.
Kalopsia takes centerstage with a bold rosewood veneer as its primary material. A light beige velvet fabric offers lightness to the collection and glamorous bronze hardware brings reflectiveness.
