Mood Board

This restaurant was inspired by the juxtaposition of Historic Filipinotown in Los Angeles, California, as well as classic Filipino motifs, colors, textures, and patterns. A blend of modern and historic Filipino art is used as a precedent for featured fine artwork and prevalent shapes, designs, and finishes.

Tropical Flora Wallcovering

Each pattern in this collection derives inspiration from classic Filipino motifs, colors, textures, and patterns with an abstract twist and hand-painted quality.

Banquette Rendering

Almost all of the design elements in this space are custom, and their form and shape are intentional and pull from the duly organic and geometric features of traditional and contemporary Filipino design. Texture is also a notable element in this space; a variety of materials like wood, matte wallcovering, metal, rattan, and performance linen combine to provide a stimulating combination of visual and tangible texture.

Banquette FF+E

This design integrates several elements and principles of design in order to create an aesthetically successful and visually interesting interior space. The most prominent element used in this design is Line; the use of horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines throughout the space communicate different intentions and balance one another. Vertical lines may be seen in aspects such as the wood wall paneling, striated material under the bar, banquette upholstery, and the tall custom bar storage built-ins. These elements perpetuate a sense of exaggerated height and length. The bar and floor paneling reflect horizontal lines, which balance the vertical and diagonal with a sense of rest. The diagonal lines in the bar storage and custom ceiling paneling promote energy and dynamism.
